8 days to go

Day 2

I'm very aware how many commercials there are on tv for fast food. The only that really bothered me was the Subway one. I love the Subway. I still have that song stuck in my head.

Going to the fridge and opening the door is a strange habit I didn't realize I had.

The "fast" includes more drinking water. #1 Ewww. #2 I'm not sure I've ever had to tinkle so many times.

Stomach was grumbling at 11am . I normally don't eat lunch until 1-2p and have to remind myself. (Eating two breakfast meals might have something to do with that.)

Just got back from the grocery store. Ok, I'm hungry. Also, observed someone possibly doing the same thing as I am. I wasn't brave enough to ask them.

24 hours completed and I have actually lost weight. I'm fairly certain its just water weight though. I still feel like I have energy. My grumpiest moment was yesterday afternoon when The 4th Grader Of The House teased me with a cheeseit by waving it back and forth in front of my nose. I might have snipped at her just a tad.
I heard of people saying they felt "cloudy" the first couple of days. I'm feeling it this morning. Also, I awoke with a headache.

I made the kids taste every juice i made except for last night's dinner. Carrots and Cabbage. Ok, I have always loved my mother's boiled cabbage. I also like carrots, but I discovered last night that they don't go well together. At all. I finished it though.

9 days until Florida Spring Break Getaway with the little family. There is no way I'll be bikini ready, but it would be nice to be down a few pounds. I might even take the juicer with me and use it for meals that we cook at the rented condo. There's not a chance I could actually sit in a restaurant with a cup of juice while the family ate.

I could go back to bed, but I have a couple of PTA meetings and the never ending laundry to do. Ugh.

Contrary to how it sounds, I'm still optimistic that I can keep this up.

Oh....and why juice as opposed to just eating the vegetables? There's a ton of vegetables in a glass of juice -- there is no way I could eat that much in one sitting. Also, your body absorbs the nutrients from the juice much much much faster than if you were to eat them. Watch the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, even though it's a documentary, it's really interesting --- The Boy Texting Addict of the house even sat through all of it.....annnnd paid attention.

In case you don't know about this site, check out Juicing Vegetables on Facebook. Lots of good ideas, moral support and such. Good luck from a fellow part-time juicer!

Here's just one episode from his growing your greens series where he talks about juicing. I recommend all his videos.

Hmmm....growing my own greens. Interesting. Also -- that tip of using Collard Greens instead of a tortilla is fantastic. When I go back to solids I might do that on taco night in the house.
Thanks!
