MTV Movie Awards

Just finished watching The MTV Movie Awards and here are my random thoughts from the Awards show.
  • Did I really have to google Andy Samburg? I've always been a huge SNL fan and realized tonight that I haven't seen it in too long.
  • Eminem walking out after Bruno landed in his lap with his butt in his face--was priceless.
  • I've always had this strange fascination/crush with Eminem and Marshall, sweetie, if you are reading this right now, I'd like to say: I will beeyotch slap that goofy wanna be funny, g-string wearing , double fake angel, Bruno if it helps. I love you man.
  • The girl from Twilight dropping her award, bless her heart.
  • Jim Carey's acceptance speech made me laugh.
  • Ben Stiller getting the Generation Award was kind of silly...the presentation of it, not him getting it. I love Ben Stiller.
  • How did I miss Heath Ledger getting the Villain Award? (just read that on the google)
  • Good grief on the cuss words that came out of Hayden Panettiere's innocent little mouth. If that was her "bringing it" then somebody please give it back!
  • Double good grief on all the cuss words from the entire Awards show.
  • I was embarrassed at some of the talk from Kiefer Sutherland during Ben Stiller's award since my 11yo was in the room.
And now my list of movies I heard mentioned during the Award show:

I want to see:
Pinapple Express, Bride Wars, Role Models, Baby Mama, The Wrestler, Night at the Museum (heck-might as well), Slumdog, The Reader, Get Smart(?), The House Bunny, Yes Man

I Have Seen:
Twilight, The Dark Knight (uhh....did I miss a few? Did I get distracted with all the pretty movie stars and not write some down?)

Unsure I want to see/Don't Want to see:
High School Musical (Insert random # here), Wanted, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Miley Syrus Movie, Iron Man, Star Trek, Hell boy, Any of the transformer movies

In Conclusion: That was one big Twilight Appreciation Show sponsored by Taco Bell and MTV.

Drag me to Hell

Sucked.

The End.

Thanks for stopping by.

PS IF you do waste your time watching that movie, let me warn you....the goat scene was funny. I tried to twit pic the goat on the screen in the theatre but could not contain my laughter long enough to take a pic.

PSS Rotten Tomatoes is high on crack for giving this movie a 94% approval rating. Crack!

Wide Musical Taste?

....or more proof that I'm a little on the ADD side?

I'm sitting here doing work on the computer and have itunes doing a party mix in the background. In the last 15 minutes in this order I heard:

1. Hush- LL.Cool J.
2. Gaston - Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack
3. Mrs. Robinson - Simon and Garfunkel
4. Get Ur Freak On - Missy Elliot
5. Alcohol - Brad Paisley
6. Anticipation - Carly Simon
7. Butterfly Kisses - Garth Brooks
8. I need a Hero (Flashdance) - Bonnie Taylor
9. U Can't Touch This - Mc Hammer
10. Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds - James Taylor

....and I refuse to admit the little dance I do during #8 while no one is looking.

Angels and Demons

Good movie, not quite as spectacular as I thought it would be, but it was pretty good. I didn't have any preconceived notions on how great or terrible it would be from anyone else, so I was able to walk in with an open mind knowing only that I was pretty sure it had Tom Hanks and was a sequel-ish to the DaVinci Code. Oh, and that was 1st in the box office last weekend.

This thought doesn't spoil anything: there is one part where Tom Hanks character walks into the Vatican City's underground archive unit and the "security" allows a woman to go in with him. She was part of the investigating team, a catholic herself and a scientist you'll meet within the first minutes of the play. My problem with the scene is how she is able to walk right in with her coat and purse into very secure areas. I just figured that a place that had such advanced security measures and put so much time and effort in keeping certain things safe would make her leave her bag at the door.

The security guy in that same scene was the only character that seemed to fail to impress me as far as believing his character. I almost feel like there would be an security guard that works at a McDonald's to be able to better play that role.

That was probably a bit too harsh towards the poor security guard. But, I am a professional and can give that sort of expert opinion.

Random Thoughts on the theater:
When we arrived at the ticket booth to get our tickets, there was a young couple in front of us that was there to see Star Trek. Actually, we're not 100% positive what they were there to see but we were both left with the thought that Star Trek was their chosen movie. The worker asked him if he was 17 and if he had an I.D. because he either had to be 17 or with an adult guardian. The girl mentions that she is only 17 and he's younger. They give in without much of an argument and leave with her playfully saying. "Why do you have to be so young at 16?"

Today after the race and while driving by the local theater here we realize that Star Trek is rated PG13. Hmphf. Odd. So what movie was it that they weren't allowed to go see? I might need to go check that out.

And lastly, I've seen a few movies at The Movie Tavern, mostly in Bedford, but The Huelen Mall was way closer to mother's neck of the woods. We arrive early, (yes, amazing, I can pull that off every little once in a while), get good seats (we tried out several-made me giggle) and ordered. Next the manager flips the lights on....bright.....and makes a speech about their specials, how the scene works, names all the waitstaff and then goes on to mention that the screen is now in digital. He tried to crack a couple of jokes, but his delivery was terrible (possibly worse than mine).

There you have it, possibly more than you wanted to know regarding our movie experience from last night. Next time, I might be nice and give you the....yada, yada, yada...and I had the lobster bisque.

Great, now I'm craving a burger

Mr. da Vinvi would either be proud or angry over the food waste.

Kat's Wed Pic

The above pic was one of my favorites from Thursday's photo shoot. They were an adorable couple that were renewing their vows after ten years. You could just sense the love, respect and happiness between the two of them.

This was another favorite. How often can you sneak a picture of one stealing a kiss when they think no one is looking? As far as pics go, I felt like the luckiest photographer in the world!

Ok, actually they were very photogenic, the lighting was great, the weather wasn't too hot or too windy.... there were a lot of favorites out of that bunch.

Hope you enjoyed those two.

Reason # 232

.....on why I had kids and got dogs.

This cute little creature is holding a mole. Eek!!

There we were sitting in the living room when outside the back door the husky was spotted digging. Again. My older daughter leaps outside to hollar at her. Husky stops. Older daughter walks over towards hole to kick dirt back in when she realizes the dirt is moving. She screams and comes back inside. My younger daughter and I rush to her for her to tell us what happened. We investigate......the dirt is really moving. Now the squeeling has increased by two more girls (in addition to the first would include me). I'm torn between trying to be the good mommy or being a scardy-gurl like the younger two.

My older daughter starts to carefully dig to free whatever our mean ferocious dog has so cruely buried. The earth moves more.....yep, we scream more. More careful digging. More earth moving, more girly squeels. Finally the husky comes back over nudges us aside as if to say,"Hey, I'll get it." So we let her and she goes to crazy digging! The dirt went flying everywhere. It was insane! And she gets it in her mouth, some poor innocent little creature. All three of us run after her and yell at her to drop it. She ran to the deck and finally let it go. It was a....mole! That pesky little creature has been tearing up my yard like and driving me mad.

Now, the real problem is what do we do with it. My neighbor behind us has finally crawled upon the fence with his children to see what the heck we were crying over. He offers to come over and dispose of it. Now who is going to pick it up and carry it over? Both girls look at me, roll their eyes knowing it won't be me and then stare each other down. So, I offer....ten dollars. My younger one jumps at it, picks it up and says, "Where do you want it?"

Yep, that's my girl!!!

PS She received ten one dollar bills from me and was disappointed she didn't get "ten dollars". Silly girl.

Huh?

One of the guys I know wants to do something sweet for his wife. He calls me to get my advice on sending flowers. I suggest just calling a local florist in her area and having them delivered from there. He wasn’t sure if it would be cheaper that way or through 1-800 Flowers. Com. Either way, that’s beside the point of why I am writing this. The part that really got my attention was an included plane ticket to Hawaii.

A What?

Yep, a plane ticket to Hawaii for her and her only. He wants to give her a vacation away from him and the kids to “let her get the stress out of her”. I quizzed him on why he wouldn’t want to go with her and said he would love to go with her but he wanted her to have a little vacation away just for her. It was then that I asked him to marry me. He laughed.

Generation Y

You Belong in Generation Y

You fit in best with people born between 1982 and 2001.

You are cooperative, flexible, and adaptable.

You know the world changes quickly, and you're eager to change with it.

You are socially responsible, forward thinking, and open minded.

I did another quiz before this one called " How normal are you?" It said I was completely normal. (Erupting in laughter.)

What generation do you belong in?

Marathon Links

My marathon training:

The website I adopted my schedule from.

The website that tracks all my runs and miles on shoes.

My marathon blog where I give at least weekly updates. (Link fixed.)

The marathon that I am working towards.

The marathon I would love to do but won't (too far away in distance).

Monday's Thoughts

  • I'm not very bright. I know you didn't notice, but really, I think I've lost brain cells somewhere. Why that thought? Cause I ran 16 miles yesterday.
  • My body is not happy with me.
  • I don't believe runner's euphoria actually exists. I think its kind of like speaking in tongues, I'm not sure I'll ever experience either.
  • I have a date Friday night with my mother. We are going to go see Demons and Angels. I'm kind of excited.
  • My date who is actually my mom, will be staying the night Friday and then going with me to a 5k race Saturday morning to cheer me on, actaully she's going to be running too.
  • Rehearsals for my next play start Thursdays. Its a new musical and I am part of the "ensemble". I don't envy the main characters one bit. I'm nervous enough just to be part of the ensemble. We have to dance and sing at the same time.
  • I'm not a very coordinated person.
  • Skunk update: Neighbor reported yesterday that his dogs did not get sprayed. I'm amazed. He mentions there might be a dead skunk on my property though.
  • I found three reasons this weekend on why I need a man: to hunt down the dead skunk, to fix the fuse in my fuse box that goes to the waterwell, and well, I tend to actually shave my legs when I've got a love interest.
  • Sorry, that last interest was probably too much information.
  • Sigh. Next Sunday's long run is 18 miles. Remind me not to pig out on junk food this week.

I’m behind on my blogging.

I was that busy this weekend…..well, until last night, and then I was just plain lazy.

I’ll catch up blogging later tonight.

The attached puppy needs a home. I do not have possession of that puppy, one of the girls at work does.

If you are interested give me a shout and I’ll hook you up.

The girl also put an add on Craiglist and didn’t get one phone call. Wow. Not one?

You still heart me, don’t you? Sure you do.

Thursday, May 14, 2009

  • It's Thursday, it's Thursday. I have a photo shoot tonight and if we get finished in time we'll go see Annie Get Your Gun.
  • I have been cast as part of the ensemble in Suburb. I'm still not completely sure I want to do it. The director had called and said, "Guess what you are doing?" "Isn't that fabulous?"
  • It really is supposed to be a dinner theatre which I think might bring in some crowd.
  • One of the gals in the ensemble cracks me up. She'll say the craziest stuff with a complete straight face.
  • A friend called me a couple of days ago to check in on my marathon training and asked what my long run is going to be Sunday. 16 miles. It was then, that I realized I will be running the furthest distance that I have ever run in my life. I've lost my mind.
  • Can you imagine the feeling to completely run a marathon? Losing weight and toning up helps out, but just the thought of finishing is great motivation.
  • I read somewhere that the fun is in the training and not the actual race. Dude, that is so backwards!
  • With all that flu outbreak, I got nervous when my little one was having a sneezing attack. I thought, what if this is the beginning of that swine flu. Oh my, what will I do? I researched online to see if I could find a checklist to go over that would help me determine whether or not she has the flu. I got lucky. I found a website that will answer the question: Do I have the swine flu? Go here.
  • Speaking of things found on the internet. I found this contraption along with a bottle of wine for 13.99. Am I craziest to buy that and believe it works? Probably.
  • I love looking for shapes in the clouds. I was excited to see a favorite cartoon character up there this morning.
  • I'm getting behind on the blogging. I blame the jogging.

Tuesday Quiz

None of Your Needs Are Being Met

Needs not being met: Physiological, love, safety, esteem, and self-actualization needs

While it may seem surprising to you, none of your core needs are being met.

You are not getting enough fuel to keep you going, and it's hindering every aspect of your life.

Go back to square one. Work on getting enough rest, eating right, and even exercising.

To be happy and fulfilled, your physical needs like food and sleep need to be taken care of.

Good grief, I almost didn't post this one. What a bizarre little quiz this week brought. I felt pretty good while taking the test and then was shocked to see the answer. Ok, the last two weeks were decent anwers....but this one? I call redo.

How'd you fair?

Tuesday's Thoughts

  • Operation De-Skunk is still in progress. Dang skunk. I'm so irritated. And I have never received so much advice from people before.....yea, and keep it coming (minus the tomato juice.)
  • Someone told me they were impressed with me aesthetically. I had to look that up. Forget more college...I need more middle school.
  • I love the flickr clock. It's coolly fascinating.
  • I have a photo gig this weekend. I'm nervous. They speak Spanish. I don't know that much Spanish. Hello, how are you, I'm good/very well/so-so. Where's the bathroom and I'd like two eggs over hard. After that....I respond with What? I know a tiny amount of Spanish.
  • I've lost count on how many opportunities that I've had to learn Spanish. I should feel ashamed of myself. I should be fluent.
  • I mapped out a 14 mile run for Sunday, changed my mind at 5am and re-mapped only to somewhere miss a mile. I'm still scratching my head on that one.
  • I've been cast in another play. This time it seems as if I'm doing a musical. I've even heard a rumor that we will do a dinner theatre. We haven't met yet but the director is one of my favorite directors.
  • Anyday now, I'll be hitting the big time. It won't be long before this blog is known as...'that blog before she became super famous."
  • Hey! A girl can dream, can't she?

You met me at a very strange time in my life....

Monday Thoughts

  • Mother's Day was great. I enjoyed the company of my sweet little girls all day. We had lunch at Chili's, I took a nap, we went shopping and they even kept their arguing down to a minimum. I believe they only fought with each other thirty times!
  • I love the stuff they make at school, Sunday school or after school care. Every year I love getting the messy, from the heart, hand made stuff. This year I realized my older baby, is not really a baby anymore. She didn't make anything in school. I blame the TAKS testing.
  • We went shopping in south Fort Worth yesterday which happened to be the closest Foot Locker I could find on the inkernets from my Mom's house. English was NOT the first language of choice at this location.
  • When I say we were the only "white folk"....we were the only white folk. I might have felt a little out of place. Our money still worked there though.
  • I was sitting here typing these thoughts, when my dogs were going crazy and barking up a storm as if in a huge fight. I go outside....whew...I get hit in the face with a strong smell of skunk spray. I whistle at the dogs and they all come running. Two of them start diving around the grass and whimper.
  • I decided they were going to stay outside for the night.
  • A couple of hours later....I hear it a mess of barking again....I go outside to be greeted by an even worse smell. Dogs to the garage.
  • I had sent a text to my neighbor when I heard his dog barking too. I'm not sure if I sent it in time or not. Neighbor offered a trap since the skunk might be hiding under my shed.
  • I woke up with a horrible headache this morning and did not get good sleep. That smell got into my house. Ick. And to think I was concerned over the well being of the skunk and feared what the trap would do to it.
  • Where's that trap?

Friday Night

I wonder what the jury would think about this guy?

Dirk Nowitzki's girlfriend

She's the tall girl in the front with the black sports bra and black running pants.

Friday's Thoughts

  • Dude. If I hear one more thing about a turtle, I swear I'm ducking into my own shell. I'm not sure what that means, but I'll do it.
  • This week has flown by. Seriously, yesterday it was just Sunday...now it's Friday? I need to pay more attention to the week.
  • So, I'm semi terrible/borderline dumb when it comes to sports. I can hang in there with football and I can grasp the concept of other sports. Dirk Nowitzki is a player for the Mav's. I think he is one of the few athlete's I can see a pic of and say, he plays basketball for the Mavs. The guys "alleged girlfriend/fiance" gets arrested at his house. So the entire afternoon went by with all talks of him and speculation over the girlfriend. I don't think I heard swine flu mentioned once. Not once. Go Dirk.
  • I found a video of her that will post a couple of hours from this post. Stay tuned, folks, put that channel changer down.
  • Today I tanned. Today I fell asleep really hard in the tanning booth. It scared the heck out of me when it turned off. Then I felt half drunk walking out of there. I think I probably looked it too. Just tell me I didn't snore.
  • I could nap everyday of the week if I had the time.
  • My older daughter turned 11 today. Good grief, talk about time flying by. Happy Birthday, little girl. (I'm not old. I'm not old. I'm not old!)
  • I think the guys have work have adopted me. One chewed on me for my last ticket not being taken care of yet and the other got on to me for my really bad front tires. Normally its my job to hollar at them and keep them in line-not them me.
  • I ran the course for the next 5k that I'm doing.....that is one brutal course. There is no way I can beat my personal time. No way. Of course, it was 85 degrees outside. Oh and there is that issue of anytime I run I suddenly get that urge to tinkle. No mos aqua for me.
  • I twittered about a very dear friend calling to tell me he proposed to his girlfriend (finally). He got laid off from the oil field two days later. Probably not the best way to start happily ever after.
  • Happy Friday.

Jackie Murphee 5k

I've signed up for another 5k. Its a local race and I am familiar with the route, as that is one of my regular weekly jogging routes.

Jackie Murphee was involved in a car accident. Website here with information and also a link to all the fundraisers available to benefit her.

I'm still delusional enough to believe I can beat my best time of 27:25 for a 5k. Either way, its for a very good cause. Wish me luck.

Edit: My mom is officially signed up too. Great....she's gonna show me up again. That woman is amazing.

Conversation with my lil one

I had just picked her up from after school care and on the way home. I asked what the supper requests were but was trying to read a school paper and drive so I wasn't really listening.

Her: I played chest at daycare.
Me: Oh Yea?
Her: Yea, he won though.
Me: WHAT?
Her: Yea, it was fun. Can we buy me chest?
Me: Laughing. Chess, Sweetie, Chess. There's no t on the end of that game.

The things she says.

Wednesday's Thoughts

  • School's open=kids back home. Whew. Thank goodness for grandparents nearby in times of flu swine needless panic.
  • Now I feel bad for all the schools that closed for two weeks. That will cut into their summer time, right?
  • I'm behind on my blogging. I blame the kid that hogged the inkernet to do research on getting a pet turtle.
  • I'm pretty close to giving up on dating. I can't stand another bad date and I'm terrible at telling people I'm just not interested. Being single isn't fun, but dating is a pain.
  • Its Wednesday and I'll blog lots more later today.
  • I pinky promise.

What crime am I?

You Are Kidnapping

You love to be in control. You are incredibly dominant.

A part of you even likes to make people suffer. It's all about power!

You love to take risks, especially if the potential payoff is huge.

But you wouldn't be in crime only for the money. You're twisted enough to just enjoy screwing with people.

Tuesday's Thoughts

  • Here is a time waste and I'm not really sure what the point of it is.
  • I found it through the stumble add on that I always forget about.
  • Speaking of add ons, I've had trouble with not hearing sound on firefox but I can on IE which really drives me crazy. After a little research I read that one of the add ons could be the culprit. One website suggests to disable each add on until you find the one. That's too much trouble.
  • Hey I sounded like a newsreporter..."one website suggests...". Hold on let me rephrase that since it was too specific.....
  • An acquantance of a person that once heard someone else mention that there might have been a website suggest to possible disable each add on until you find the one that is causing the problem. Now off to Joe Schmo for our traffic report.
  • Another hey, I totally forgot about Joe Schmo. Remember this, "What's going on?"
  • During my jog this morning, I came across a skunk. You know, it's time to get glasses when you slow down your jog to pet the pretty little kitty cat. I also came across a snake and about five road kill. I did not slow down for them. Gotta love country living.
  • I won't mention how high I leaped over the snake once I realized it was really a snake.
  • My old neighbor next door is losing her mind. I walk up the driveway towards my side gate and she comes out to talk to me. We have a ten minute conversation about the weather, pets, her cats when she asks me where I live. They give my kids snacks and treats about once a week.
  • Surely I don't look that different in a ponytail and headband, do I?
  • My right leg cramp came back to visit this morning.
  • I'm afraid to turn the tv on just to hear more about the pig slime.
  • I keep meaning to post more pics to my thoughts. I made a vow to myself to use my own pictures but I've been too busy to look through them and see what I have.
  • Labeling my pictures would probably help.

Inevitable

Video made me tear up.

Monday's Thoughts

  • The world has gone pig crazy. I'm not really sure it was necessary to shut down the schools.
  • Slumber party and birthday party both turned out pretty good. I say pretty good...get a bunch of 11 year old girls together and at some point their will be drama.
  • Heck, three girls in my house and there is always drama.
  • One of the girls was a in your face kind of kid and not afraid to say anything. (Made me laugh a few times.) She told me that she has a friend that doesn't like Obama and before the election her friend told her that Obama would not get elected and in fact, a black man would only get into the white house when pigs fly. She says all this with a serious face. "And would ya look at the country today? That pig virus is flying across the country!"
  • I still can't believe that came out of the mouth of an 11 year old.
  • Saturday she tells me her sister was in one of the classes with one of the kids that was suspected of the pig virus. She adds the sickly child just got back from visiting in Mexico. Great.
  • Another girl at the slumber party has an Iphone. An 11 year old shows up at my house and she has an iphone. I told her it smelled like poo.
  • Maybe I shouldn't have bought that bike. I could have been blogging from my very own smelly iphone.
  • I watched the video of the Cowboys practice tent falling down during the storm. I would scream like a little girl and cry like a baby if that happened to me. That would be terrifying.
  • We had no idea the storm was that bad. We were inside of the skating rink at that time and the music was loud enough that I might have faintly heard thunder once.
  • I spent a lot of the time skating and tried hard to talk other parents (even my own mother) into skating. My mother said, "When haven't skated in fourty years and you get this age you are liable to break something if you fall. I. don't. think. so." Kinda made me laugh.
  • My other child wants a swimming party for her birthday.......in the winter. There's a heated indoor pool here. She just might get her wish.
  • Mom bought my birthday girl the movie Twilight since she is almost done with the book. I gave in and let her watch it Saturday night. Wow....I think I so just got sucked in to that whole bit.
  • I am very interested to get ahold of that book. She complained about everything that was left out of the movie that was in the book.
  • Its funny how I can start out with these thoughts unsure if I have anything to say.
