Christmas Eve Memory

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house.....

yada, yada, yada....

sitting in the rocking chair, watching tv with the little ones and out of nowhere I hear a "thump".
I turn the tv down and the older one says, "Mom, turn it up, I can't hear."
"Shhhhh," I reply, "I thought I heard something."
We sat. Waited. We actually heard sleigh bells coming from above outside.
Child jumps for the window and I tell her, "No! We gotta get to bed. I bet that's really Santa!"
So she runs for her bedroom.... en route, she proclaims, "Holy Smokes, Mom!!"

Now that was the funniest thing that happened. Well, following a close second would be at my parent's house..... the image pulling into the driveway and seeing my father on a ladder with rabbit ears and duct tape getting ready for the Cowboys to lose.

Don't get any bright ideas there, Missy.

Little sister watching big sister getting a haircut.
Why can't they stay little? I've demanded and they
just don't listen.

I will admit

..it is cute. I looked at her after the first major haircut and saw, for the first time, an older child.
That makes me feel just a tad bit older. I'm going to go crawl into a depression now. Sniff, sniff.

The Before

The After

Yes, I cried.
And yes, she rolled her eyes.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.....

I will be celebrating this year with this holiday.

Giddy up!

Spears on the naughty list?

I think that the more shocking news that Ms. Spears would be involved in something unethical is that K-Fed could write a whole book. Read the latest scandal here.

Found it...

...another time waste. Not sure what the point of this is, but it kept me intrigued for a few moments. It reminded me of the bubble wrap for a second until I figured out...all on my own...that there was more to it. Past that...well, you got me. I'm blonde remember?

My shout out...

...for tonight is for dictionary.com. I use it on a regular basis for work, school and, yes, I am a nerd, for fun.
Tonight, sadly, I had to use it for my daughter's homework. We'll just pretend she is in honor's classes and not in elementary school.
To share my experience of delightful research on what a predicate is, click here for the answer.

Adoro español

It's time to declare my love for another language. I now working on another essay for English, yet this one is 1200 words. I think I spilled some brain cells out of my little head somewhere. I think I will take a break and go look for them.

Speaking of breaks...

sometimes I like to play this game...it helps..umm....me refocus my thoughts. Yea, sounds good. Refocus. Good word.

Ding Ding

The end of round one...two? I won the computer war with a little help from a local computer nerd. Sometimes I can hang in there and fix the problem myself...but this time I had to pull out the big guns. My computer nerd came by, fixed me up and had a little fun chuckling at me. Laugh it up. I got a 95 on my last English essay. My mom is proud and I am working on the next assignment. Well, sort of. Let's just call this post a brain break.

A perfect example...........

Kat fight!!

This computer and I are about to go 'round and 'round!!
I thought it was sooo nice of the little online college to offer free downloads.....
so I took them up and upgraded to Windows XP.
Yeah, well, they can have it back.
Something has me stumped with my internet connection....which is good, but still not working quite right.
I blame this for my recent 85 on an English essay. Would my professor give me a blonde break and give me 5 points handicap for my instable brain?
I guess not, so here I sit with s-l-o-w internet connection and a slow brain.
Maybe I'll have a better grade and solve this problem all by tomorrow.
Keep your fingers crossed but, I tell ya: DO NOT hold your breath!

Yes I will marry you!!

Although, I don't think he was talking to me it sure does sound nice and he probably has a huge fan club of women! I may have to re-read his blog to see if there is anything in there regarding laundry and snow....

Problems

Internet was down today. I was forced to clean the living room, kitchen, bathroom annnnd do laundry in the cold, cold icy weather at the laundry mat. Not fun!
But I'm back at my nice, warm, comfortable desk and am actually thinking of going to bed!

Child Kills Mom and Brother

How terrible.

Snow Day

It snowed here!
Yesterday the County Judge closed all county offices for today.
Our school district was not so nice. They decided to hold school today.
I took the kids to school and waited until they were counted present and then picked them up.
I got home and they finally closed the school an hour later. Too late, I was already snuggled back in my bed for a nap.
After my nap, we cleaned up their mess and went outside to have a neighborhood snowball fight. Fun! I just love it when it snows in Texas. We so don't know how to drive here. Just close everything down and stay home!

Read up on...

this article if you ever thought about re-gifting. As for me, I want a four-wheeler and don't care if it's been used or not as long as it runs. I wouldn't mind one bit if it was re-gifted!

I'm back...

After too many hours of driving in the car, I am back home. Arkansas was a nice place to visit and the police are awfully nice there. I realized that I like those razorbacks after all. The nice officer was busy listening to the game and didn't want to miss anything so instead of writing me a ticket he asked me to please slow down. Nice officer. Go Hogs!

Holiday Highlights:

1. I slept in the day after Thanksgiving and decided not to go shopping for the first time in a long time.

2. I will forever be grateful for the present I gave my kids last year!

3. Four wheelers are really, really fun---not so much, when your mother is driving, tends to make one nervous.

4. I gained 3 pounds this year. I might take up jogging again.

5. I beat my mother at cards for the first time in my life. I will always cherish that moment, because I fear it might not happen again. She's really good!

6. My great-grandmother's bed is not a super-king and her dresser is not eight feet tall--a childhood memory can be slightly disproportioned.

7. Family can be fun to be around.

8. Four wheelers are awesome--twenty acres of land with trails through trees tend to help out. I'll post pics later.

9. Elvis Presley's house is not as big as I thought it would be.

10. If you're ever in Memphis, TN..go to Corky's Bar-b-que. Best stuff I've tasted in my life (outside of grandma's kitchen, of course).

11. I missed the dent in my bed that my little body has made and might be grumpy tomorrow morning when I actually have to get up early. Yuk.

12. Got through three chapters in Government.

Excuse my Grumpiness...

I won't let the night pass without wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving!

Word of advice: Pass on the wine. Ten minutes later and I'm still trying to dab away that taste from my poor tongue.

Notagood Monday...

I thought I would put all 23 kids down to bed early tonight and enjoy a glass of wine during the end of a bad Monday. I can be an adult for a change. The wine has been sitting in my fridge for a couple of weeks and it just looked good. I serve it every weekend to intelligent, well-off people at the second job. Maybe they know a good thing.

Then again, little Blonde Kat might not be a great big fan of Merlot. Icckk.

I'm back to being childish over the end of my evening. Where's my Dr. Pepper?

I wonder.....

if there is a guy out there that will promise his future wife a pan, a comb, and perhaps a cat. Oh wait, I think I found one. Man is that gal lucky!

Today's Geography Lesson....

Here is a map of I20 running through Cisco, Eastland and Ranger.
Wow...imagine being outsmarted by a blonde if you ever thought that I20 didn't run through those three towns!!

Doogie, Say it Ain't So...

I heard today that little Doogie Howser proclaimed his gayness a couple of weeks ago.
No, no way..I reply.
Then after a very short research...I find this article.
Does he know that I begun my crush on him a long, long time ago when he was the doc? So unfair. Yep, we can go ahead and cross him off the list.

Of Course...

My sweet little mother (who is very short) just had to make the artificial intelligence blonde joke! Nice, Mom....nice.
Wait...Christmas is just around the corner....
Funny, Mom....funny. Love the new house.

Miss New Hairdo

I've been debating for awhile to try a new hairdo. So I had a couple of inches snipped off and went brown.
It took two colors to get there and didn't completely take in some spots. So now I'm brown with red and blonde shimmers here and there, which makes for a very interesting color. I'm semi-happy. My little gal did an amazing job. But now I miss being blonde.
It's already lightened up a bunch over the weekend. By the beginning of the year..it'll probably be all faded away.
If you're upset....get used to it. All of us big movie stars do it. We love to change our look often. (Now if I could just work on the movie star part, I could afford to change looks more often!)

Don't forget to make time to vote!!

Lots of fun

It was fun and I had an awesome time. Next time, I'll remember to get a t-shirt.

When I got home, I didn't even care that I had no electricity until 5am due to a lightening stike, a small fire and a down electricity line across the street from my homestead-like living quarters.

And the winner is.......

Last pics of the night and, boy howdy, did I hollar at my camera. My poor little batteries had given in at this point. And so did my back on the 10 mile hike back to the camper.

Nice line after one of the last cautions

Monday, November 6, 2006

Not bad

Only one ambulance got used. Good job drivers. This one walked for his mandatory ride to the Infield Hospital.

Oh, I get it....

And suddenly the need for this many
ambulances makes sense.

Professional

I could not consider myself a true photographer if I didn't get pictures of the big wreck.
And for you non-race car fans out there........... Judging by the number of people at the Texas Motor Speedway (typically referred to as TMS for us fans) this possibly is only directed to three people........

The Nascar racers are supposed to drive on the track.....not on the grass.

Race Car Fan

The race got really intense toward the end. I want to say there were around 11 cautions, but I could be wrong.
That many cautions would leave a person slightly on the edge of their seat....if one were to sit.....which during the last 30 or so laps...we didn't. (We meaning...just about everyone in the joint.)

(Pic was of a guy down the row from me. His facial expressions were very interesting to watch. He got much happier once his guy won. I think he finally smiled.)

Who does a gal cheer for?

I sat next to a Gordan fan and I am best friends with a Dale Jr fan (real fans call him DJ-by the way). What a predictiment I was in...so, I remained neutral and went for the #6 car. I remembered him from the time I attended last. He was the viagra car, it was funny...he wrecked and his hood got stuck....ya well, nevermind. He's now AAA. And his name is Mark Martin.

He lost. But I took this pic to share since it reminded me of Sunday's Gordan and DJ going back and forth with passing each other. The text messages between the two above mentioned fans were almost as entertaining as the race.

I'll work on who I'm gonna root for next time. I might have to do a little research. (after my homework of course!)

I give...

I'll admit that I went, but did not enjoy it! Here are three more pics.

The joint was very messy and I was very far up in the stands ( a whole 18 rows.) Ok mother, this is all you need to know.....now call me, and I shall talk your ear off. Any other pictures posted here on Nascar are NOT real!!

Nascar Sunday

There might be a slight chance that I might have skipped church to go on a last minute invite (that was possibly forewarned on Friday) to .........drum roll please.....NASCAR!!
Exciting times! Here pictured..ahem.....if I went and skipped church----(which...shhh...I can't admit because my dear mother reads my little blog once a year).-------would be a friend of mine whom I would have gone with....if I went...

PS. Hey D, nice sunglasses, by the way! I need to go with ya next time you shop! You must have a fabulous assistant!!

Still working

on the Mrs. Dog the Bounty Hunter's ummm....upper chest.
My guess right this second would be there are real and just a little on the chubby side.
Here is pic from five years ago....
I'll keep digging though.

I did learn that her real name is not Beth Chapman but is actually Alice Barmore. Interesting, very interesting......

By the way....

Saturday was the very last football game. Two weeks ago we had all cheerleaders for the last game of the season and they nailed the halftime dance. I got goosebumps when the crowd cheered for them. I was screaming with the girls when they ran off the field. Awesome job. I couldn't have been prouder.
And this last weekend, we played at a big stadium out of town with astro-turf. I'll learn the correct spelling before I start coaching beyond pee-wee.....definitely before I advance to the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders!
At any rate...4th quater, we're down one touchdown and our crowd and cheerleaders were going crazy. It was awesome. I think that's the first time we had fun losing. It came so close and the boys faught so hard. It was exciting and sooooo close!
Go Eagles!
Back to homework now.....
I will now hunt for that silly Government book and wipe the dust off of it.
Thanksgiving with the family is coming up. I must cram to show grades off when I get there.

Update....

for the following post...I just found the one I was looking for. This one is interesting.

Dustball

can be pretty creative. I came across this video the other day and he has more including a very sweet one for his pretty wife.

I actually didn't

know this little tidbit of history, but it was very interesting.

I found

the perfect Christmas gift for my kids.....watch ya think? I predict everyone will have one of these very soon. It'll catch on.....or not.

I feel safe

the town I work and live in is not on this list.

Dog The Bounty Hunter

Here is the first of five you tube clips on Dog the Bounty Hunter. When you click on it, you should see links to the next four.

Once you've watched it you can check out the official website here.

Or, if you are a myspacer, then you can join their UNofficial myspace page. It has LOTS of videos on it and they might even let you be their friend.

If you really feel bad for a good guy getting arrested for capturing a bad guy then you can sign the petition to help their cause.

I did learn he has a hearing in November....your homework assignment, should you be a real fan, is to find out the when and what for. Leave me a comment and let me know. I have an essay paper to write over the consititution.

K-I feel better....I should get a raise for this one.... or at least a free pass on cleaning. I vote let Ashley do my section of cleaning just one night....She adores me and wants to be just like me when she grows up! (he, he, he)

Coming in the next few minutes....

The correction plus more to the last post.

And, just for a reminder.....
isn't this blog titled Kat's Blonde Moments?
So does it surprise, my little readers that I some how posted an entry refering to a link that wasn't there?

If it helps any, I couldn't concentrate on my homework until it got fixed....so here I go.

Bow-Wow

For those Dog, The Bounty Hunter fans out there:

Here is a link to the first video of 5 that tells the whole story. There will be links to the side for the next four. I watched a couple of them, but they are about 7-9 minutes each.
Pup the Bounty Hunter (condensed)

Sorry, boss, I couldn't resist... please don't fire me and ummm... I'm working on it!

I'm soo addicted....

Watch the video below again, but this time, ignore the fight and watch the background.

I think I need to get back to my studies....

I just want to state for the record that niether of those colleges is the one that I send all my money and a couple of my brain cells to.
Miami vs. FIU Brawl (with music)

Where's that ref and his whistle?

I just thought pee-wee was rough....

Anyone catch this game over the weekend? I must have missed it...and I watched a ton of football this weekend!

PLAYOFFS!!

We made the playoffs!!
There is another game left. I am soooo excited!!

Well, let me take a sec and inform ya that apparently in pee-wee football, everyone makes the playoffs. Almost doesn't seem fair, but if you lose you're out, really, this time for sure!

I would feel really bad if we did actually win the playoff game after only winning one game all season. What if the team in the # 1 spot lost? That would be sad. Then again, there might be a reason they are in the number one spot.

At any rate, wish us luck! Lots! We've had a great time all season.

Friday's Vocabulary Lesson

When I realized today's date is Friday the 13th I suddenly became frightened.

Did you know that there is a term for having a fear of Friday the 13th? Yep, you can find it here.

Now I want to hear you say it three times really, really fast!!

Pic

Here are some of the girls....we had two out sick this day......

Crafty

Hey I made seven of these during homecoming week.

Not a bad job for a first time mum-maker. I might take that up as a little hobby next year and sale them somewhere.

Yes, I patted myself on the back after seeing those seven little faces lit up!

Last game....

....is this Saturday.

Ahhhh.....I'm sad. I'm gonna miss those little girls.

My little, little girl is a soccer player. Turns out she is good at defense tactics. She makes a great goalie. And.....during a scrimmage she escorted another team's player off the field to look for his mommy. She was trying to distract the other team member so we could play better. Now if someone could have just taken the oppurtunity at that moment to score it would have been priceless!

Homework Brain

I worked so hard on an essay for government last night that I fell asleep in the middle a sentence. I wonder if the teacher will mind if there is a little drool on the paper.....

then again, maybe I'll type it up. I have another lesson to do in government and then I'm looking at a midcourse exam. Yikes. I read that it's a three hour exam. Good grief, they're mean!

To the owner of my favorite steak restaurant....

I am looking for the dog.....I'm all over it! Stay tuned for the results of my incredibly slow investigation!

I'm Baaacck!

Miss me?

I dug out my living room after the mum mess, cleaned my kitchen, took out more than 5 bags of trash....

then I took my youngest kiddo to the hospital and we both went over 24 hours without sleep. But she got to ride in an ambulance from one hospital to another. Fun!

I won't tell ya how far behind I am on homework...but might blog for some answers....would that be considered cheating? Anyone out there found of History?

Mother, I was just kidding, I wouldn't cheat...unless you want to write a paper or 28 for me!!!

Monday, September 25, 2006

Slow Posting....

........all week! It's homecoming weekend. Go team!!
Crazy week! But I'll make up for it next week and over post just to balance it out!

Didn't work

I went to my fortune teller website and it didn't work....
I asked it if I was hot and it told me.... "Negatory, Captain!"

Not nice.

I think I'll go to bed and get my possibly, badly needed, beauty sleep.

Prepare to be impressed

with photography.....awesome picture!

Speaking of...

....really good looking blondes....

If I did go to the Hottest Mom in America contest... I probably would have gone from 350-400ish women to somewhere between 30-40. Not bad numbers. Although, if they really knew how much my intelligence bumps up my "hottness", they would....oh wait....that probably wouldn't be good. But hey, at least for this week, I shall walk around with an over-inflated ego!
And, not that I'm admitting anything here, but if I did go...I would have received a cool t-shirt. At least it wasn't...ahem....wouldn't have been a totally wasted trip!

They will be in Miami this weekend....maybe I should fly on down there...they have a poll going on their home page that asks where are the hottest mom's, Dallas or Miami.

It's almost time....

I haven't watched yesterday episode yet, but I will review the taped version tomorrow night.

I believe I should appear on next week's episode....stay tuned and look really hard for the blonde in the background. The REALLY, good looking one, that is!

They really should put me on the tv..I already enjoyed the paycheck they sent.

Yesterday's Blonde Moment

Monday night football...did I mention we won?

On the way to the game, one of my 30 children's water jugs was sitting in the front floorboard, I may have turned slightly sharp around a curve (missed the curb) and it fell over. Thought nothing of it....till we arrived at the field to find the whole thing leaked out....

Thankfully I had something in the floorboard to soak up the excess water from ruining the carpet in the vehicle. My history book! I think I'm still broke from the over $100 I paid for this sucker. OK, so before what comes around goes around....I want to state for the record I LOVE all my text books and read them faithfully. None of them are boring AT ALL! Especially that history one.

Poor book!

Winners!!

Hey we finally won a game!! Our girls got to do the touchdown cheer three times!! Awesome, huh?!
College update.... good grief that's a whole lotta reading, I had no idea that history and government could be so boring!! But then again, this will get me into law school (hopefully) or an assitant manager at the McDonald's! Hey, didn't they change their menu up to include some healthy salads?

Yawn.... maybe I'll blog more next week, I mean tomorrow... maybe.... keep your fingers crossed.

Hey, if everyone would do one homework assignment for me, then I could have soooo much time to blog! Anyone fond of writing English papers or reading all about the history of the United States up until 1877?

Wednesday, September 13, 2006

I'm on the internet!

Look at this link.....I'm the really good looking one!

David Blane not for real?

This website claims to explain how David Blane is a liar. Whatever, I've watched him on T.V. He really does it! I want his autograph.

Are you...

a hot mom? Well, since I am the hottest mom (even after 19 kids) I will be here on Saturday! I'll just forward all my calls to my manager.

I might take on drinking....

...coffee that is. I recieved most of my little school books today. So I read my history of the United States Up Until 1877 assignment to my 23 kids for their bedtime story. It was a precious moment. Then I woke up a couple of hours later....
I'm taking an intensive writing class....only 30 writing assignments. What the heck was I thinking when I choose that class? Maybe I should submit the UA test now and check for drugs.
Saturday we lost the football game.... we sooo need a win! It was really exciting to see our boys intercept the ball. Yikes, I'm learning sports....
I did accomplish a plan with the football coach and a football mom for the homecoming parade though. That was progress. And I realized my cheer daughter can make spirit sticks. I won't mention that she made them better than I did. That part is very not important. She made 13 Sunday night. I think I made 1 with the help of the 3 year old.
Just let it be a couple of more years before they outsmart me.

Inspriration

Definations:

1. arousal of the mind

2. divine influence

3. stimulation of the mind

4. prompts action

5. moves the intellect

Could you find it anywhere? Here?

Help this person.....

find their lost animal.

I wonder if there is a reward... I think I've seen it around where I work.

Awesome view...

from space. Take a peak if you're not afraid of heights.

Fake Moon Landings Revealed

It's a good thing I found this page or else I would have woken up in the morning still believing NASA actually put people up there. And to think I fell for it in the first place. Man, that NASA is good!!

The Wonders of Technology......

...can do so much these days. All those pretty little actresses on tv...ever wonder how they look on a regular day?
Warning before visiting this site.... Lisa Kudrow is a little on the scary side if you're used to the cute little thing from Friends.

Hey, I'm suddenly impressed with myself. If I can look this good without photo editing, I wonder how good I could look with it? Hmmmm.... manager?

I think I might want to....

....go crazy!!
I think I might change this up a bit for my 3 and 1/4 readers out there. I might just go to giving a monthly update on college and a weekly update of football scores. I really need a good reason to get a better internet variety. Any opposed? No? Great!

Clueless

on what he's done to make him a famous actor, but he sure is cute, so I don't care!
Go Sean Patrick Flanery, whoever you are.

I'm also too lazy to google him.

Go me....

I'm starting to really feel the pain of an actual college student. I think my poor mother is soooo glad I live sooo many miles away at the moment. She had the bad timing and bad luck today of emailing me the how's it going with college email.
Sorry mom!
One little question turned into a long, long answer. I think I wrote back a novel. I didn't remember college being this much work to get started the first time. She said it was a pain back then too. (About 8 years ago....eek, I'm still young I swear!!!)
It must have been sooo bad that I blocked it out of my memory. Maybe I'll do that again after this degree.
But the point..... yes, boss there is a caboose (somewhere)....
I actually got to sit down this evening and pick my first 15 hours.
Wish me luck and don't get mad if I start throwing in a little spanish on an occasional blog. I have to take 4 spanish classes, one of which I'll start now....don't they know I only speak blonde?!
Once again, wish me luck!

I never thought....

I was shocked to hear the cause of Steve Irwin's passing today.

Payday...

If I weren't a starving actress I would frame my first paid gig's paycheck that I got in the mail. My manager was very proud of me. We even discussed me quitting my job as a fry cook at McDonald's, but decided it best we wait for a couple more jobs....
Well, that, and make sure I can make it past editing and actually be seen on TV.

Broke Down G-Ride...

The poor vehicle I abuse on a daily basis called in sick on Friday. The poor window broke. Clunk, is all she wrote. It went strait inside the door. I think my manager was mad at me that day!
So , off to the shop she went. The window, stereo, and air conditioner are all getting fixed with nice Greg in charge of it all. I even get to drive a rent car.
Not the same, though.
My promise to the vehicle: I promise to be more careful and nicer, I swear...... at least until you go to the local dealer for the brake job. Then it's like a brand new vehicle.

I just hope the mechanic doesn't have parts left over when he's done!
