PreRace Thoughts

I did this race two years ago and it was 30 something degrees outside.
We got here an hour early and there are already a ton of people here.
This race is pretty much a crowd of running clubs. They've spent the year doing a tour of races and this is their last one for the year.
The girl that ran overal last time I was here is here again. She's my age. I'm ok with 2nd place.
Everyone is oddly perplexed by the running chips.

This Duck Event is a huge deal in these parts.
I can now say I've been to Stuggart twice in my life....on purpose!

Paul Blann sings and records a version of Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd

I love his voice and sound.

Very nice.

(And I think he's famous.)

Just now....

..going to do blood work and I learned that Dirk was born in 1978? I could have sworn I read that he was born in 1985. I guess, now thinking back, it really doesn't make sense for him to have been born that early and accomplish what he has.

I've been fasting since yesterday and really feel kinda blah without my caffeine.

I waited later than I meant to because I had a meeting crop up that was unexpected.

I'm hungry, thirsty and want.....errr need Red Bull.

Not sure I can make it.

Microsoft Employees Line Dancing?

...to the Black Eyed Peas, I gotta a feeling.

My thoughts:

For real?

Did they get a bonus for doing that?

Do they get minimum wage?

They lose a sales dare with The Disney Store next door?

Is that song really that long?

How many of those people have ever done that dance sober?

Wednesday Thoughts

 • By the time these thoughts post, I'll be a the doctor's office visiting the vampires taking my blood. A little blood test never hurt anybody, right?
 • Right?
 • Why are you sitting there staring blankly at me in silence? Just tell me it will all be ok and I'll stop whining.
 • I wish I could explain in words the bruises I get. They look terrible. Yucky. Embarrassing. Icky. I should probably check with the doctor to see if it could be The Plague.
 • Actually, its probably my iron, as I've troubled with that plenty of times before.
 • That or The Plague.
 • Anywho. I had an urge to kiss the Baby Daddy yesterday evening.
 • I would like to state for the record....kids will be with me Thanksgiving with the extended family!! Woo Hoo!!!! Yeppers....with me!!! Yea!!!
 • Me = Estatic
 • Basically, we are trading weekends and I'm dealing with the out of school issue for Monday and Tuesday. Fair trade....very fair trade.
 • My brother will most likely have all of his kiddos together too. I foresee a photo opp.
 • I realized tonight that Dirk Nowitzki is eight years younger than me. That struck me as odd. I'm not sure why, but it did.
 • I gave up on the sink. My favorite plumber is coming back today.
 • I hid the cheesecake this time, in my stomach. Now, if he'll pretty please help himself to the Halloween candy I would greatly appreciate it. In fact, I wonder if he'll take pounds of candy as payment for his services.
 • Yea, probably not.
 • Speaking of services, if you are interested in my photo skills, send me an email at kbuggie@gmail.com and I will direct you to another website where I store all my photos. To answer the question, I don't just do photography for friends and family. I am available for hire.

Tuesday Lunch Quickie

 • I went home a smidge early from work yesterday feeling icky sick to my little tummy and completely exhausted. I'm feeling better today but not quite 100%.
 • I guess its good timing to not feel well when I already have a yearly check up scheduled at the doctor's office.
 • I'm getting my cholesterol checked again too...which was high-ish last time. Dang herediatary genes! Thanks, Mom and Dad.
 • "Unfriending" is now a word in the oxford dictionary. If they haven't already, they need to add frienemy, because I like that word (and not because Paris Hilton used it).
 • In January I am officially going to Costa Rica for a week. That's just a little over a month away. I am extremely excited! Please, please, please let me see spider monkeys!
 • I also have some friends flying in Thursday evening from New Jersey. Woo hoo! They are getting a personal tour of Dallas/Fort Worth/Decatur. I'm sooo making reservations at Frilly's for Friday night supper.
 • Ok, maybe Frilly's isn't on the list.
 • Friday morning Mimosas will be on the list, though. I'm pretty sure that's a Texan thang, ain't it?
 • MzChief made a very good suggestion for the holiday scheduling with my young ens'. If I don't have them on Thanksgiving Day doesn't mean I can't have a Thanksgiving Dinner before they go or when they get back.
 • I'm still trying to decide on the extended family trip....which is next week, so I guess I better hurry up and decide.
 • I guess the one good thing (trying to look on the bright side) of the kids being with Baby Daddy is that I won't be paying daycare for them on Monday and Tuesday when they are out of school. So, I'd save a little moula....and I'd save the argument from the older one who is fairly certain she is too old for daycare.
 • My sink at home erupted last week by springing a leak or two from the old, old, old pipes and the just as old faucet. My awesome plumber came out and replaced the pipes and advised to replace the faucet. Ugh...replacing a faucet isn't exactly easy work. I won't question his hourly rate on the bill.
 • This last weekend I went to downtown Fort Worth to goof off and ate some Mexican Food down there. At one point I looked around the restuarant and realized I was the blondest person in the joint. I'm not sure what made me think to notice in the first place and I kinda wonder why I never noticed before.
 • If I ever become a celebrity, like a supermodel or an actress, I'll probably keep blogging. I know you would miss my insightful, deep thoughts too much.
 • Yesterday's "pic me up" was probably my favorite. Whew...triple hot.
 • Yee-haw. Back to work, ya'll.

Monday Thoughts written Sunday Night

 • The 5k went pretty well. I was surprised by the number of people that showed up.
 • My nephew started out running with me and I made him keep my pace for the first mile and half to keep him from sprinting and using all his energy at once. After about half way through I let him do his once pace.
 • He finished a minute before me. I now regret making him run my pace. He might have done even better.
 • At the last 1/2 mile of the race I got the sudden urge to tinkle. Do you have any idea how hard it is to run and hold in your bladder? I slowed down and walked a fast walk until the urge passed. While walking the girl in my age group that got 3rd place passed me. I placed 4th in my age group. Nice.
 • My time was 29: something. Not bad for me...but I could have done better!!!
 • My brother and grandparents waited at the finish line for us to finish....they didn't see him finish because they figured I would finish first. They saw me finish but not little nephew.
 • I have been more tired this weekend than I have ever been in my life. I'm still tired right now and I slept in this morning (wasn't up that late), took a nap this afternoon and it's 8:24pm..I could go to sleep right now.
 • I even took a nap after the race yesterday.
 • I am waiting on 17 again to download so I can watch it with my little girls.
 • I think this Thanksgiving is their time to spend with their dad. If that is really the case, then I'm about to go through depression.
 • My family typically goes to Arkansas for Thanksgiving. I miss my girls even more when they don't go with. I'm seriously debating making the trip if I don't have them. I'm not sure what my grandparents would say to that.
 • There is also a 10k that I like to run up there. It's a very pretty run annnnd I placed in my age group the first time I ran and my mother has signed up for it this year.
 • 16 minutes of movie downloading from itunes.
 • I'm wondering if I'll make it through the movie.
 • I watched Bad Reputation earlier...that was the worst movie I have ever ever ever seen in my life. WORST. I'm still wondering why the heck I sat through all of it. It was a free movie. Horrible.
 • I did family photo for some dear friends today. They have the cutest kids! I never noticed but the mom mentioned that dad smiles like Elvis. When I looked back at all the pics, I noticed that he does. Made me laugh.
 • Good Night. Wait....this is getting posted Monday morning. Good morning.

Friday is looking gooood!

Ladies, say hi to my buddy, Josh Wald!

Your local theatre called...

...and they want to see YOU tonight...or tomorrow or Sunday....

Heck, I even heard they would be sweet enough to wait until next weekend.

PLAY ON

Showtimes on poster.

Go watch the play, be the third person to email me a review with proof of purchase/attendance and I'll let you be my personal bff for a whole week! I'll post a pic of you on my blog, call you on the phone three times that week to talk aimlessly about nothing and exchange a bff necklace that I will wear everyday that week and cherish for another month after.

Above can also be used as a threat if you DON'T go and give me a review.

Must see?

Ok, hypothetically speaking, if you had a friends from out of state....and I'm talking like, practically a whole 'nuther country outside of Tejas....coming to visit for one weekend and you had only that weekend to show them Dallas/Fort Worth...what would you show them?

What would be on your list?

Help a sista out.

Friday?

 • Woo hoo!! Three more days till Monday!!! Rock on!!!!
 • Google wave? Wow there's alot to it. Alot.
 • I also have Google Voice and Google Latitude. Latitude is great if you are a freaky stalker like myself.
 • If you have Google Wave and needs you some friends to wave with...try typing with:public in the new wave box and be prepared for a tsunami.
 • I went to Band Practice last night. Yep, band. Once a band nerd always a band nerd?
 • I'm playing the flute in an adult community band. It was fun. Challenging. Brought back memories.
 • Sheesh, that was some slightly hard music....to sight read!
 • I've had mad chocolate cravings all week. All week!!!! I'm afraid to step on the scale this weekend.
 • Today is Friday the 13th. I'm not superstitious....well, pretty much.
 • Happy Friday!

Wake Up! IT's Friday.

Have a great weekend....whatever it is that you do!

Afternoon Hunk

I've always thought Mr. Sean William Scott was a hunk, but I can't help but to remember American Pie and laugh. (And if you have NOT seen that movie.....it's quite alright to skip it.)

Enjoy.

Why don't you just go blow a.......tea kettle?

Yep, it's a new sensation sweeping the inkernet. "Tea-pot Blowing."

I'm wondering if there are any crack, weed, or alcohols involved.

via

If you do try it....at least get a video....and not just a pic. We could all get a better afternoon giggle if ya did video it, did screw it up and did involve more people.
Oh wait.....someone already did:

If you get motion sickness easy and/or don't wanna hear them explain what they are doing then skip to the :40 second mark.

Failing and getting it on video is greatness.

And I qoute, "You have massive blowing skills."

Dear Plumber,

Please be swift with your work and easy on my checkbook-It's more fragile than those 50 year old pipes!

Peace out!

-Kat

PS. Touch the cheesecake in the fridge and I'll kidnap your wrench.

Thursday's Thoughts

 • I'm a bit emotional this week. It might have been a slight lack of estrogen, but I'd never admit to that and I'll cry, hollar, or eat a pint of ice cream if you ask me about it.
 • I had technical difficulties at home this week.
 • First of all, the mower wouldn't start. I had to borrow my brothers. His doesn't have a grass catcher. I am a little OCD about the grass being clean and free from...well, the cut grass.
 • But I did get to mow....and faster than I had before.
 • The front was done two nights ago and I started on the back last night and ended up with his mower stuck in reverse.
 • Frustrated, I had to give up half way through.
 • So, on to cooking supper and I find a massive, nasty mess under my kitchen sink. It seems as though the drain pipe has seen its final days. Nice.
 • I went Mama crazy last night....kids, kids, kids....all seventeen zillion of them making little messes here and there. I've gone insane. Insane.
 • I will say, that the 2 year old....Is. A. twoyearold.
 • I do love the 2 year old voice and talk though. Her vocabulary has multiplied times eighty since she first came here. She's turned into a parrot. It's adorable.
 • The boy and the 5k is in two days and I'm not sure he's gonna make it. He got some sort of respiratory infection complete with all the congestion, wheezing and sneezing a little runner would ...not...want.
 • He's been practicing like crazy and finishing the 5k would have been a breeze for him. Ugh. I really will feel bad if he doesn't get to do it.
 • Crazy thought: Thanksgiving is two weeks away.
 • I almost didn't want to post anything....that Colby Donaldson is....hawt! He helped me survive my day....get it? Survive. (OK, I'll stop.)
 • I finally gave in and splurged on an ebook. The Lovely Bones is now waiting patiently in my ereader on my iphone.
 • I also got my phone to sync and back up with itunes. I think I figured out last time it wouldn't sync that the problem was due to podcasts I downloaded directly from the itunes app.
 • I have a website I like to frequent....it answers my most important question of everyday: Am I awesome? It's VERY accurate..
 • Go ahead, try it. Ask it...Is Kat awesome? Answer here.
 • Enjoy your very awesome Thursday.

Oh yea......estrogen is good stuff. Today ought to be better.

Veteran's Day Quote

by Eve Merriam:

I dream of giving birth to a child who will ask, "Mother, what was war?"

Dancing Weatherman

Forget all the big words those metero-watchchamacallits use....just dance and around and show me pictures.

Veteran's Day

An Act (52 Stat. 351; 5 U. S. Code, Sec. 87a) permitted 13th May , 1938, made 11th of November in every year an authorized holiday; "a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as 'Armistice Day'."

Wake Up!

Stick with it....the music starts after his intro.

Hey. Now.

Tuesday can be hard on a gal after a Monday.

Crazy dream

I dreamed (or is it dreamt) that I was driving down the highway and had been driving for a long time. I received a call from someone to stop and pick up someone else. I took the next exit and made too sharp of a turn when getting onto the access road and caused my cell phone to fall off the console. So, at the stop sign, I put my blinker on, came to a complete stop, leaned over and picked up my phone off the passenger floor board. All is good and I'm back on my merry way.

I make the left turn, go under an overpass and realize that it felt good to stretch out like I did, so I put my left foot out the window and straightened it out. The next moment a police officer traveling the opposite direction turns around and gets behind me with his lights on. I pull over and put my leg back in. The officer walks up with his eyebrows raised and asks what the heck I think I'm doing.

I explain that I've been driving forever and just needed to stretch a little because my back was getting a little sore. He asks how much I've had to drink. I reply none. He keeps asking me questions: where I'm coming from, where I'm going, who the vehicle belongs to, who is this person I'm picking up, why am I picking them up....on and on. While I'm answering he keeps trying to put a device near my face.

Instead of the normal breathlyzer that would detect the alcohol content in your body that you would blow into for a few seconds, he had a fancier one. His new contraption would detect alcohol just by the tinest amount of escaped breath from a person's mouth or nose, but you have to get it within an inch of their face. I kept turning my head away because he hadn't "asked" for a sample of my breath and I hadn't signed the proper consent form.

Somehow the tablet that had the consent forms would reset the machine. When you signed the form, you would take the form off the tablet and the machine would reset from the last person and then you would put it by your face. This officer wasn't playing by the rules though.

I knew I hadn't had a drop to drink and was fine, but I wanted that machine reset. He finally gets mad at me and says, "FINE! I'll do it!!!" He puts the machine up to his own face and the machines registers that he is three times over the legal limit of alcohol allowed for a person to be driving. Then he goes on to explain to me that I'm under arrest for drinking a ridiculous amount and driving badly. (Actual charge that he wrote on my ticket.)
I woke up confused. Really confused. BUT I didn't speed on my way to work, I wore my seatbelt and I also did not put my leg out of the window......not that I normally do, of course.
I'm glad I shared that with you.

I'm hooking her up with my brother....

He needs some "straightening" up. Ya think she would let me leave the toilet seat down? him get away with leaving the toliet seat up? (Good grief, what the heck was I thinking when I first typed that up?)

I'd worship her if I weren't afraid that she'd pull my pony tail and throw me to the round without batting an eye!

Wedding Pics

The happy cute couple.

Love ya guys!!
-Kat

Tuesday Thoughts

 • I took a ton of pics this weekend between the rehearsal, the wedding and the reception.
 • I had already taken a ton of pics for the engagement photos and the bridal shoot.
 • BTW....gorgeous bride! (Groom is my bff and knows more about me than anyone.) They are a wonderful match. The photography was my gift to them. I love them both.
 • Today, my little bitty baby, turned a big seven years old. Wow. I feel old. It feels like it was just.....seven years ago that she was still in my belly.
 • We had her birthday party at Days Inn on Sunday afternoon. How fun is a swimming party for a November baby?
 • Well, it would be if the dang water wasn't 50 something degrees....and let me tell ya...Days Inn SUCKS!!!! Yep...I am soooo griping up a storm later. BIG TIME.
 • I made the on-duty clerk put his hand in the water and tell me if he would swim in that pool. He wouldn't answer.
 • I was not happy.
 • My brother starts work today. YEA!!!!!
 • Next task....rent houses. Oh yea, I'm gettin' my space back. Woo hoo!
 • Don't get me wrong, I love my brother and his kiddos to pieces...but I haven't gotten to walk around my own house in my superman under-roos in forever.
 • I'm a little worried about my sweet pea, little puppy. She's buried herself a huge hole under my deck and she is very protective of it.
 • If I come home to find a bunch of baby puppies.....I'm running and screaming!!!
 • I'm not sure I can handle "dealing" with another issue this month.
 • Wanna see me go insane?
 • I'm worn. It's only Tuesday.

PS. My brother just said: "I sure hope they look like Mallie, I wanna keep one."
PSS When you see the video I post later....yep...I'm sooooo hooking her up with him! :-)

Search and ye shall find.....

Well, well....I found another cutie on the internet.
He's an actor too.

Peter and The Wolf

This is why I want the sheet music to Peter and the Wolf. The song is stuck in my head......I came across this video and thought the beatboxing was cool as heck!

Post Halloween

I dressed up for Halloween and someone else.....ahem...di-int.

It's Thursday!

 • Yea! Fun weekend with the kiddos. Woo hoo!
 • I have sat and googled and googled and canNOT find free flute music for Peter and the Wolf. Surely, somewhere out there in the interworld there is a copy of Peter and the Wolf. At least, I would think there would be.
 • I had a long meeting today that just about whipped me. I sat with the boss most of the morning and we accomplished a ton towards an ongoing project...but today I felt worn out......well, a smidge.
 • We have a deadline to finish this project by the first of the year and I'm a little on the nervous side. A little.
 • Ahhh.....poor Lindsay Lohan. I'm thinking she's gonna be ticked when she finds out that Daddy sold recorded conversations of her crying on the phone. So not nice.
 • If I see the words "epic" or "fail" one more time, I swear I'll hurl all over this keyboard.
 • Don't lie about stabbing yourself to get out of going to work or you might actually have to stab yourself.
 • I'm gonna stop blogging now and go stare at the hottie pic from yesterday.

Wake Up!

Pick Me Up

I think he was in a movie...... yea who cares what he was in.....

Super-Surgeon

This plastic surgeon, Reza Vossough, meets a gal with "potential", marries and falls in love 8 surgeries later.

I think she was very pretty before. Ummm, oh yea...careful reading the article...the new and improved pic might not be safe for work.

Wednesday Thoughts and Stuff

 • A friend called me today to have me look at the new Carrie Underwood CD. She claimed Carrie Underwood looks just like me! Ok, maybe my friend has bad vision...but, Carrie could be my twin!
 • I had trouble in iphone paradise again last night. I had downloaded some pod casts to my phone straight from itunes and then it would not sync...in fact, itunes kept freezing up.
 • I had to delete all the podcasts and then it would recognize it, but it was still slow going.
 • That iphone can be so cool and such a pain in my brain.
 • I saw this comment: "You deserve a stumble and maybe a re-tweet :) very nice post!" on this article (10 Neat Facts About Google). That phrase just stuck me as funny.
 • The never ending story. Good grief. That thing goes on and on.
 • A Cub Scout troop met at Hwy 287 and Business 287 to practice a flag ceremony when a thingie called a hoist broke causing the flag to get stuck at half mast. Uh. Oh. It was fixed the same day.
 • Whoa, whoa, whoa....it's Wednesday already? How the heck did that happen.

Afternoon Giggle

Halloween Math

I'm a Geek?

You Are a Geek

You love to learn, especially when it's about technology. No subject is too obscure for you.

You enjoy tinkering with things to see how they work. You aren't a traditional learner either... you need to hack around to figure things out.

You may have the brains to be a super rich Silicon Valley geek, but you're truly content to have your own favorite projects, subjects, and toys.

For you, being a geek is not about the glory. It's about a love of digging deep and truly understanding the world.

That was the strangest quiz....I was kinda shocked to see the results after answering the questions.

Of course it's not true....I'm really a super model.

Monkey

More incredibly beautiful pictures here.

(Thanks, for the link, Nerd.)

Tuesday Thoughts and Stuff

 • Good grief. I got the worst bruise on my left leg that showed up this weekend. It looked horrible. Now...other side, same thing. My legs looked either abused/beaten or diseased. (There's a strong possibility that some kid has the crazy leg in her sleep.)
 • In 24 days, I will be pigging out on some yummy turkey, ham and all the fixings with family in Arkansas. I look forward to that.
 • That would also make Christmas 53 days away. Sound like a big number? Think again.
 • I already have Christmas presents hidden in various places around my little shack.
 • Did you notice twitter now has lists that you can create? I like that.
 • I don't like this tweet. They have over 2,000 followers?
 • 15 Good Reads. I was actually crafty enough to download one of them to my iphone through the gmail using the GoodReader App.
 • My entire house last night was asleep by ten am. That whole get up in the middle of the night thing wore us all out!
 • My younger daughter, in the middle of a long story, adds that she hardly ever talks. I laughed out loud.....(she takes after me....but worse!!)
 • I can't believe that they have been in school for 50 days already!
 • Oddly, I only got, one pic of my Halloween costume, which was a nurse...but my hair looked crazy in the pic thanks to the headband....I sent an email out to a wonderful friend begging for a couple of pics she took.
 • My girls had fun too. I angrily hollared at them to NOT bring candy home because we already had too much at home.....they came home with a big bag full. Nice.
 • Then one of the guys brings candy to work to add to my candy dish. That crazy mug brought chocolate!!! Can you believe that? (Pictured.)
 • I'm gonna have a rough time resisting that chocolate stuff.
 • Weekly weigh in showed another half pound lost. Don't worry, you don't have to hate me cause I'm so skinny....I'm surrounded by Butterfingers and Snickers--throw in the family Thanksgiving dinner coming up--I'll be right back up there in no time.
 • Out.

Afternoon Giggle

Tom Mabe: Eavesdropping

Happy November!

Love,

Lily

Back story about the Lily pic here.

Monday-Monday

 • Ok maybe Friday's video wasn't really Mr. Barry Green....but it sure did make me laugh out loud!
 • I had a fun photo shoot yesterday afternoon with the spunkiest bride ever. The happy couple gets married this weekend and I can't wait! It should be a fun wedding. My older daughter is going to be my personal assistant during the wedding.
 • I got an email late Friday with an invite to try out the new Google Wave from Google. I was positive at first glance of the email that it was going to be fake.
 • It wasnt'. Now I need to add some friends to wave with me...and I need to decide what the heck I'm gonna do with it. (I'm totally excited!)
 • My invite is good to include 20 friends to wave with me. Hmmmmm........
 • Normally I can sleep pretty hard and not remember a thing. Oddly, here lately, I've been remembering dreams that I had the night before. I've also been waking up several times.
 • Interesting question I heard on talk radio: "Has the swine flu effected the way you greet people?" Me? I've only been nervous in the doctor's office and walking passed the pharmacy in Walmart...all other times, I totally forget.
 • I have a 5k and a 10k this month. I feel pretty good about the 5k...but I'm getting more and more nervous about the 10k. I'm afraid I won't make it......annd it'll be out of town and I won't have my doggie to run with me.
 • I woke up an hour early this morning because I completely forgot to reset the time on my alarm clock.
 • I curled my hair...the girl's hair...listened to a podcast. It was pretty nice.
 • OK, now go enjoy your Monday after your crazy weekend of wild candy partying and keep away from my stash--I stole it from the kids fair and square!

Wake Up!

It's Monday!
